Many different seasons of life bring people to shared housing. If any of these sound like you, we would love to hear from you.
Are retired or nearing retirement
Live on Social Security, SSI, SSDI, a pension, or veterans benefits
Are working, but rent takes most of your paycheck
Are living with a disability and manage your own daily needs
Are moving from another living situation and want something stable
Would rather share a home than live alone
Residents manage their own daily routines. Good Ground is a shared home, not assisted living, so we do not provide personal care, medical, or nursing services.
You are welcome to arrange your own home health aide, visiting nurse, or personal assistant. Your support stays in your hands.
Rent can come from many sources, including Social Security, SSI, SSDI, pensions, veterans benefits, housing vouchers, agency support, and private pay. Ask us about your situation.
Included
A furnished private room or a lower-cost shared room. Utilities and Wi-Fi in one monthly payment. A shared kitchen and living room. Laundry in the home.
Not provided
Personal care or help with daily activities. Medical or nursing services. Meals (residents can use outside providers to access these services)
The Ideal Resident
Living in a shared home is a rewarding experience built on mutual respect and shared values. Our ideal resident is someone who:
Embraces Community: Enjoys being part of a warm, supportive household and values social connections over isolation.
Is Flexible with Space: Is comfortable sharing communal areas (kitchen, living room, outdoor spaces) and is open to either a private or budget-friendly shared bedroom arrangement.
Values Respect & Peace: Commits to maintaining a clean, harmonious living space and abiding by our house rules and Code of Conduct.
Communicates Openly: Practice kindness, courtesy, and constructive communication with fellow housemates.
Common Questions
Is Good Ground assisted living? No. Residents live independently. You may bring in your own outside care if you need it.
Do I need a case manager to apply? No. You can complete the pre-screening yourself. Family members, friends, and case managers are also welcome to reach out for someone.
How much is rent? Please call us at (786) 607-6432 for current rates. We are happy to walk you through your room options.
When can I move in? Our first home is planned to open in early 2027. The pre-screening adds you to our interest list. It does not reserve a room, and placement depends on fit and availability.
Start with a short pre-screening, or send us your questions. Helping someone else? You are welcome to reach out for them.
